What is the best type of paint to use on a dollhouse?
I have a new, fun and exciting project that I am undertaking! I am going to start buying and refurbishing dollhouses! I would like to know some tips on painting, selecting miniatures and just ways to make them cool if you know of any or have done this yourself. I would also like to sell them .. so if you have marketing tips as well. I may sell the first several (if I am good enough of course!) and then start donating them to children's charities. I think this will help me as well as the children. I love children and love to be creative! If you have any ideas, just let me know. Thanks so much!!
A good quality acrylic paint, found in craft stores, will be fine. You can buy many bottles in various colors without investing a lot of money. They often go on sale for $1 per bottle or less.
I would research a good sealer and make sure it addresses safety in regards to children. A young girl who has a Doll House might not chew on it, but she may have toddler siblings.
I'm not sure where to get miniatures other than the craft stores, but I love miniatures and the idea of what you're doing. Sounds like loads of fun!
Some accessories you could make from Sculpey or Fimo clay. You just bake them in your home oven. (Follow their instructions of course).
